Good quality photocopies of census pages are available as follows:
YOU: Provide the references from a printed, on-line, or microfilm index which include your ancestor's name, the census year, the state name, the county name, the county division, and the census page number. For 1880 through 1920, the ED (enumeration district) number is necessary in addition to the page or sheet number.
I: Provide a photocopy of the actual census page from a microfilm roll. The page size will be 11" x 14" unless you specify otherwise. The entire census page will be shown. Copies are made on late model Minolta copiers that utilize laser printers with powder toner for the sharpest, non- fading copies possible. Should the desired household be the first or the last on a census page, the adjacent page will also be photocopied without additional charge.
Multiple households within a given county and census year are provided at a reduced rate following the initial household. This also applies to households on adjacent pages to the initial request.
COST:
$5.50/household for a single request
2 or more households per order: $4.50/household
6 or more households per order: $3.50/household
12 or more households per order: $3/household*
20 or more households per order: $2.50/household*
Multiple households on a single page: No additional charge beyond the initial household.
Household on page adjacent to one already requested: $2.50 charge only rather than full price.
*$2 per household for orders of 12 or more.
Multiple households within the same county and same census year: $3/household after the initial one.
*$2.50 per household for orders of 12 or more households.
PROCESSING TIME: Ordinarily orders are completed and shipped within 10 to 14 days of receipt (usually less) except in times of vacation/illness when processing may be slightly delayed. You will be notified via e-mail when your copies are mailed.
Each photocopy page will be stamped on the reverse side, confirming that the copy was made at the Family History Library and providing the microfilm roll number for documentation purposes.
LEGIBILITY: While the microfilm quality at the FHL is very good, on occasion the original pages of a particular county division may have been damaged or recorded in pencil or very light ink. In these cases, the photocopy of your particular family will be magnified and the contrast customized so as to maximize the legibility. My goal is to provide you with the most legible copy possible.
NOTE: This service and these rates apply only when you provide the actual census page number. Line by line searches of a given county in search of a family are NOT included in the above rates.
PLEASE INCLUDE A SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE OR MAILING LABEL IN ORDER TO EXPEDITE MAILING OF YOUR COPIES.
