After providing professional client research at moderate prices for over 30 years (10 in the Los Angeles area and 20 in Salt Lake City at the Family History Library), I have made the decision to close my research business and retire effective February 1, 2012.
I have given much thought to this decision, and it is based upon three main factors.
1) With the rapidly increasing amount of genealogical data becoming available online, there is much less demand for the type of research that I do.
2) My own family research has been secondary to that of my clients for all these years, and it is now time for it to instead become primary while my health remains good. It’s essentially a case of the cobbler’s barefoot children ☺
3) I want time to enjoy the “golden years”—not only personal genealogical pursuits, but other interests as well.
It is with mixed feelings that I make this announcement, however, I feel it is time to move on to another life chapter. I have enjoyed helping others pursue their ancestors and very much appreciate the patronage of my many clients over the years. Thanks to all for a great ride and best of luck in your continuing research efforts!
